Lug Travel

I’m travelling to New Zealand and Australia for a month. How much luggage should I take?

I’d really hate to lug around a big suitcase, but otherwise, I think I’d run out of clothes. What do most people do who travel around for 4 weeks? Huge backpacker style backpack? Thanks for your help.

Whatever the saying is, I’ve been globe-trotting for over 30 years, and I never EVER take more than a carry-on shoulder-bag that contains a few versatile pieces of clothing and essentials (liquid, creams and gels in 100ml or less, Cell Phone, etc.), the rest I can find locally, usually cheaper. Even on long trips. Most of the time, I even take a wrinkle-free casual suit in case I’m invited to an expat get-together at an embassy…
