why do we lose or mislay things ie:keys,wallet,passport,1 sock?

why cant we mislay a cheap crappy pencil eraser
but easily mislay important stuff like money or house/car keys
time and time again

Tell me about it, I couldn’t find my car keys today, I found them in the fridge, then I lost my dogs lead, it was in my hand, I never lose pens or pencils though.
