Sleep Pillow

How dangerous would it be to let an 11mo old child sleep with a pillow at night?

My son loves his pillow…he will sleep all night with it and I always remove it from his crib when I go to sleep and then he won’t sleep anymore. I’ve never seen him with his head under it, or anything similar.

My daughter has been sleeping with a pillow since she was 7 months old. It’s fine, just make sure it isn’t really fluffy to where he gets the air blocked from his face etc. A doc would tell you no. A seasoned mom will tell you it’s okay as long as you watch it.

My daughter wouldn’t sleep unless she was on her stomach. It scared me to death because all the doctors were like “only on the back to prevent SIDS”. Guess what? Mommy finally got tired enough of getting up every hour on the hour just because she couldn’t sleep. Put her on the tummy, she’d sleep the whole night through and I felt a lot better. Just get up and check on them. SIDS is not proven to be caused any certain way.
