Can you plug a surge protector into a voltage converter?
I am going to 3 countries in Europe next semester. I just bought a voltage converter so I can plug my things in overseas without them exploding.
Now since i just bought the converter, is it safe to plug a power strip type of surge protector into the converter? My goal is to maximize the amount of outlets I can use.
Yes you can, but just be sure that the total watts don’t exceed the maximum recommended for the converter. If you’re going to use it for charging a mobile phone, laptop, iPod, etc. you should be fine. Be careful with high watt hair dryers, etc.. In any case if you use too many watts the power strip or converter will just shut down and you’ll need to unplug a device or two and reset it.
